Trade on API.Every option and perp, from your own code.
The Iridium API gives your programs what the trading app has: every listed option and perpetual, your account, positions and orders, and live prices on the same streams the app uses.
Contents ⌄
Introduction
One API for options and perpetual futures on 54 underlyings: stocks, ETFs and indices, commodities, crypto and pre-IPO names. Orders reach the same engine as the app's, at the same house quotes, against the same cross-margined account, around the clock.
Account data and orders travel as JSON over HTTPS on a host of their own. Market data and your order updates stream over WebSockets as compact binary packets.
| Area | What you get |
|---|---|
| Orders | Options, multi-leg orders and perps; stops and take-profits; checks before you send |
| Positions | Every open position with P&L, funding and fees |
| Funds and margin | Cash, equity, margin in use and margin available |
| Statements | Fills, refusals, settlements, funding and the ledger |
| Market feed | Perp prices, trades and depth, and every option quote with its Greeks |
| Order updates | Your orders, fills, margin and positions as they change |
| Instruments | Every underlying and listed series, with permanent IDs |
Access and keys
- Keys are made in the trading app and trade only your own account.
- Your browser generates an Ed25519 key pair and hands you the private key once, as a file. It never reaches our servers; we keep only the public key.
- Every request is signed with the private key, so the key itself never crosses the network.
- Revoke a key from the app at any time.
- The streams take a short-lived login token, fetched with a signed request.
Orders
- Buy or sell any listed option series at the house quote. Every order carries a limit, and either fills in full at once or comes back refused with a reason.
- Each order carries an ID of your choosing. Resending the same ID can never fill twice, so an order that timed out is safe to send again.
- Find any order by your ID or by ours.
- Check before you send: the margin an order needs, and the refusal it would get, if any.
Multi-leg orders
Spreads, straddles, strangles, condors, covered calls and cash-secured puts go in as a single order.
Perpetuals
Go long or short the perpetual future of every underlying, filled against the venue's live order book up to your limit, in the same account as your options.
Stops and take-profits rest with the engine, not with your program, so they trigger even while your program is offline.
Positions
Every open option and perp position with size, average price, P&L, funding and fees, as the app shows them.
Funds and margin
Cash, equity, margin in use, margin available and maintenance, computed by the engine across your options and perps.
Statements
Every fill, refusal, settlement and funding payment, every ledger entry, and your equity over time.
Market feed
The stream behind the app and this site: perp top of book, trades, funding and open interest, five-level depth, and every option quote with bid, ask, theoretical value, implied volatility, delta, gamma, theta and vega.
Subscribe to an underlying, a whole chain for one expiry or a single series. A subscription starts with the latest values, then sends each change as it happens. Packets have fixed layouts and exact fixed-point prices.
Order updates
Your account's own stream: each order's status, each fill, account events, margin and perp positions, sent as the engine records them.
Instruments
Every underlying and listed series, with IDs that never change. An option's ID encodes its underlying, expiry, strike and right, so a program can read a series from the number alone. Expiry calendars, contract sizes and earnings dates come with it.
Errors
Every refusal carries a stable code and a message that says what to change.
Environment
While the public test runs, every balance is mock USDC with no cash value and every price is live: build and test with nothing at stake.
